Why should first Reborn installation be a "clean" installation and why should E drive be formatted and any memory card removed?

Because Reborn Store and SW Update applications (and even RebornTube) are widget-based. Symbian Belle Refresh has a bizarre system for widgets. First installed widget receives a fixed UID value: 0x2000dad2. Subsequent widgets follow with 0x2000dad3, 0x2000dad4... Furthermore, widget sandboxes are in a folder independent of the UID. For example, for Reborn Store, this is x:\private\10282822\store\Store\

The problem begins here. Reborn CFW automatically installs Reborn Store and SW Update widgets during first installation. If other widgets are installed before them, they cannot access their sandboxes with the same UID values. The only solution is to ensure that there are no other installed widgets or remnants in the sandboxes before these are installed. Therefore, a clean installation is essential.

A clean installation is also necessary for other important reasons. Reborn terminates all unnecessary processes, "creating new CenRep and/or config files if necessary." For this, it's crucial that the new files don't conflict with the old ones.

Please follow the instructions provided by the developer meticulously. Otherwise, you will only cause confusion and waste time. If you don't want to follow the instructions precisely, please do not report errors. Thanks...

Thanks to the Reborn hybrid CFW system, you can create and share your own customized packages with very basic Symbian knowledge. To do this, simply extract the Reborn_hybrid_CFW.sis file using the SISContents application and make the necessary changes. You can also learn the necessary technical information for automatically patching RomPatcher patches using Jigoku Master's RebornPatcher from the Reborn CFW Telegram group.
